Advanced Lean Coach Programme

This is a best-in-class Lean manufacturing programme delivered in conjunction with People Centred Excellence, an Accredited provider of training through the Lean Competency System (LCS).

It gives participants the tools to drive strategic change in their organisations, apply technical knowledge and leadership, and link improvement projects to the delivery of business objectives.

What is the Advanced Lean Coach Programme?

The Advanced Lean Coach Programme (Lean Competency System - Level 2a) is designed to help you to improve productivity, reduce waste and achieve faster growth.

It is being delivered through our partnership with People Centred Excellence, whose coaching team has worked with international names such as Toyota, Siemens, Black & Decker, Pilkington Glass and Morrisons.

How is the course structured?

  • The programme is aligned with the Lean Competency System (LCS) created by Cardiff University’s Lean Enterprise Research Centre.  The LCS is the leading, academically recognised Lean qualification worldwide.•

  • The programme is underpinned by an initial four-day training course, including a manufacturing case study site visit, to deepen understanding of advanced Lean tools, principles and techniques.

  • The second stage of the training puts knowledge into practice, including a ‘real-time’ project in the workplace to demonstrate the application of learning in a practical context.

  • Learning can then be applied to redesign manufacturing business processes, work streams and end-to-end organisational change to deliver performance improvements and achieve significant return on investment.

  • This is an accredited course, with the content structured to follow the Lean Competency System (LCS) Level 2a requirements.

How will the course help me and my company?

Led by the team from People Centred Excellence, the Advanced Lean Coach Programme (Lean Competency System - Level 2a) will give you access to best-in-class industry expertise.

A combination of training and coaching support will help to drive and sustain the implementation of Lean and continuous improvement principles across your business processes and supply chains.  There are a host of benefits:

  • Participants will develop Lean manufacturing tools and techniques to drive strategic change and align improvement projects with business objectives.

  • Equipping delegates with the skills to lead improvement projects and train and coach colleagues to adopt a similar mindset.

  • Developing participants’ abilities to design and implement programmes and take up leadership roles in department or cross-functional teams.

  • The opportunity for delegates to put theory into practice by delivering a strategic improvement project of their own to benefit their employer and achieve ROI.

  • Accreditation will help your CI professionals to facilitate strategic objective setting and policy deployment activity with leadership teams.

  • This globally recognised CI qualification also helps to open up networks for collaboration and Lean research.

This course is for

  • The Advanced Lean Coach Programme is designed specifically for senior manufacturing managers, continuous improvement (CI) leaders and Lean professionals in the Greater Manchester area and throughout the M6/M62 corridors and the North West.
