Our Six Sigma Green Belt Top-up programme is designed for those wishing to lead successful Six Sigma project teams within their current role at all levels within the organisation.

Continuous Improvement Practitioner Programme is a prerequisite for this programme. 

What is Lean Six Sigma Green Belt top-up?

  • This course empowers learners to apply the powerful mix of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, along with project and change management principles and tools to enable process improvement.

  • Green Belt level enables practitioners to lead improvement projects end-to-end within their organisation.

How is the course structured?

  • The intense 2 days of training are delivered online or in person in an engaging, practical and interactive format, giving the learner everything they need to start delivering significant improvements the moment they get back to their workplace.

  • Lean Six Sigma belt colours are used to define the roles and qualification levels of its practitioners, starting with White, then Yellow, Green, Black and after many years of practice- Master Black Belts.

  • This course covers all requirements for Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Qualification.

  • Green Belt is an internationally recognised qualification
    and applies to a multitude of industries from manufacturing and aerospace to banking, HR, healthcare and IT.

Who is this course for?

  • This ‘Top-Up’ course is specifically designed for those who have successfully completed Manufacturers Network’s Continuous Improvement Practitioner Programme (CIPP) in the 12 months preceding, including the submission and review of a previous improvement project.

Course Content Overview 

  • Introduction - Key principles of Lean and Six Sigma:

    • Roles & Responsibilities

    • Introduction to DMAIC.

  • Define Phase - Clearly define and scope the problem / project:

    • Voice of the Customer

    • CTQ

    • Defining the problem

    • Charter development

    • Project Management.

  • Measure Phase - Measure the process performance in its current state in order to understand the problem:

    • Understand variation

    • Data planning & collection

    • Value definition

    • Process yield

    • Process capability.

​

  • Analyse Phase - Analyse data to find and validate the root causes of business problems:

    • Calculate process sigma / capability > DPMO

    • Hypothesis testing

    • Simple Linear Regression.

  • Improve Phase - Develop solutions, focus on eliminating the root causes and implementing the improvements:

    • Creative thinking & Innovation

    • Benchmarking

    • Prioritising

    • Piloting / testing

    • Managing change

    • Facilitation skills

    • Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA).

  • Control Phase - Implement process and behavioural changes, write standards, procedures, measurement and monitoring systems:

    • Control plans

    • Visual Management

    • Standardisation.

  • Project Briefing

    • Selecting, scoping and planning your GB project.
