We support your organisation to develop tailored systems that drive efficiency, accountability, and sustainable performance.

Our Approach

We engage leaders and key stakeholders in a structured approach to designing and implementing end-to-end production or performance systems inspired by the Toyota Production System (TPS) and guided by Shingo principles. These systems act interdependently, working together to drive performance improvements.

Our support starts by defining the overall framework in terms of the key elements or systems and how these work together to drive performance improvement in line with strategic priorities.

We then design the system elements, as well as how they should operate and how they are implemented, being sure to define the ideal behaviours from the leaders and team members they’re aimed at supporting and reinforcing.

Finally, we conduct the deployment phase, where the elements and systems are implemented. This includes the training and support required to build competence and confidence on a day-to-day basis.

The three-phase process

A well-defined production or performance system is essential for embedding a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

01

Defining the production system

  • Establishing the core elements that will drive operational excellence.

  • Customising frameworks to align with organisational culture and industry requirements.

  • Ensuring each system supports the organisation’s purpose and customer value delivery.

02

Establishing key system components

Examples include:

  • Strategy deployment system – Aligning objectives and priorities across the organisation.

  • Visual performance management – Real-time tracking of performance and accountability.

  • Tiered accountability system – Ensuring clear ownership of tasks and continuous feedback loops.

  • Supportive leadership system – Developing leadership behaviours that drive engagement and results.

  • Problem-solving systems – Embedding structured methods for identifying and resolving issues.

  • Flow improvement systems – Enhancing efficiency through Lean methodologies.

  • Workplace organisation and 5S – Standardising and sustaining clean, efficient work environments.

  • Equipment performance management – Implementing autonomous and preventative maintenance to optimise reliability.

  • Capability building and cultural development – Strengthening workforce skills and reinforcing desired behaviours.

03

Deployment and training

  • Developing clear standards and expectations for each system element.

  • Creating and delivering training materials and modules to equip teams with practical knowledge.

  • Supporting on-the-ground implementation to ensure successful adoption and measurable improvements.
